Senior DW / BI Consultant

Profile

As a Senior DW / BI Consultant at Tallan, you will be responsible for learning the latest technologies and putting them into practice for our clients. You will work with an architect to set technical direction and design the systems, and you will be hands on writing the system along with other developers, designers, and clients. You can expect to interact directly with the client and their team, gathering information and requirements and presenting ideas and solutions.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
• 5 years IT/IS experience
• 5 years working with various databases and database architecture
• 3 years in data warehousing
• 3 years in business intelligence and analytics
Requirements for candidates with data warehouse experience
• Solid understanding of database design theory (logical and physical)
• Solid understanding of data warehouse design and theory (logical and physical)
• Solid understanding of ETL design and theory
• 3 years of focused experience with SQL Server, including data structures, indexing, and scripting languages
• Experience with a broader range of databases (Oracle, UDB/DB2) a plus
• Proficiency with performance tuning through query optimization, partitioning and indexing
• Proficiency with data manipulation and interrogation using SQL
• Proficiency in designing ETL architectures and developing ETL processes with SSIS
• Experience with a broader set of ETL tools (e.g. Informatica) a plus
• Experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack including all of the following: Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services
• Strong technical leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Candidate will be located in CT or MA office. Expectation is that the candidate will work/travel in CT, MA or NY areas.
Candidate may be required to travel to other locations based on project resource needs.
Candidate must be capable -
and willing
- to do both BI and .Net work depending on Tallan resource needs. BizTalk and/or SharePoint experience a plus.
