Business Development Consultant Jobs
Two key concepts, namely growth and diversification, are the strategies every successful organization uses today. Both of them require the given organization to search for new business horizons, which is where the business development consultant comes into the picture. The consultant identifies various potential clients who might be interested in and capable of purchasing the services of the employer company, and, in a given case, arranges an appointment, introduces the services that his/her company has to offer, informs the potential client about how those services could strategically help them, and finally, if all goes well, signs a business agreement with the client. Depending on the duties performed, consultants are variously referred to as business development executives, business development consultants, business development representatives, business development managers, business development and sales consultants, business development team leaders, etc.
A bachelor's in business administration or its equivalent, an MBA degree, and prior strategic selling or business development experience may be required for some positions. The position actively involves the negotiation of rates, so negotiation skills are required for the role.
