Legal Nurse Consultant Jobs
Legal nurse consultants apply their nursing expertise to solve legal issues. They review medical records, conduct research, and prepare reports for intensive healthcare matters. They are also approached and consulted by attorneys to clarify the medical jargon associated with particular cases. Legal nurse consultants spend much of their time helping to solve legal problems related to the medical field, often serving as expert witnesses during criminal case hearings. A legal nurse may be part of a litigation team. Legal nurse consultants can also find employment with insurance companies, government agencies, private corporations, and hospitals. Some legal nurse consultants handle medical cases in their free time, working full-time as hospital nurses.
To obtain the job, extensive nursing experience is required. Having a certificate in legal nurse consulting, a graduate degree, or relevant legal experience is helpful.
