Technical Consulting Jobs
Technical consultants advise the management of a given company on strategic and technical issues related to information technology. Technical consultants are involved in the evaluation, assessment, and analysis of customer information systems, procedures, and objectives, offering specific advice regarding system upgrades, configuration modifications, cost cutting, and potential strategic advantages. The technical consultant presents his or her findings or recommendations to C-level management; creates a technical vision for the company; is involved in the creation of technical budgets and the allocation of resources; and advises management on the various opportunities and threats involved in any new projects being undertaken.
The technical consultant job candidate should have a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or a master's degree in an IT field. The requirements for these consulting positions may include 8+ years of experience at leading IT companies or IT consulting companies. These jobs may also require frequent domestic and international travel.
