Organization deals with the whole task of business. The total work of an enterprise is divided into activities and functions. These various activities are assigned to different persons for their efficient ways of accomplishing tasks. This brings in the division. Organization helps to divide the work into related activities so that they are assigned to different individuals.

Modern organization theory is of a recent origin. It was developed in the early 1960’s. This theory has tried to overcome the drawbacks of earlier theories.

Organizational development structure



Organization development structure is the establishment pattern of relationships among components or parts of an organization. It prescribes the relationships among various positions and activities in a business. Since various positions are held by persons so that the structure creates a unique yet balanced relationship among them.

Organization is the mechanism that determines the relationship of various persons. With the help of a defined organization, management is able to perform the functions of direction, co-ordination and control. The test of a good organization is its success in adjusting to a new and changing situation. The technological improvements that are taking place every day and the management is always required to make use of them while they exist in a competitive world. Its development should be flexible to incorporate all of the new requirements.

The adjustment to new changes will require rescheduling and readjustment of duties and responsibilities in the organization. This sometimes makes the organization of a company difficult. However, it also proves to be true if a company is able to withstand change, or better, can flow with the new changes within the company. Therefore its organizational skills are highly developed and should be used as a model for other companies. There may also be a need to delegate new powers in order to utilize these technological changes.

An efficient organizational development is essential for the success of a business enterprise. The definition of duties and fixing responsibilities of all employees in the organization is a pre requisite for the smooth working of concern. Effective organizational developments ensure proper supervision and control.

As a Consultant in this field one must acquire knowledge of logistics, governmental issues regarding that particular state and much more. Salaries will range from state to state and size of company. Normally, an Organizational Development consultant will require a Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of experience. However it is safe to say salaries will range from $65,000 per year when working full time at a large corporation or per project.
