The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Sales & Distribution Data, Reporting & Analytics Consultant to join our Group Protection Distribution and Client Solutions Team supporting Workplace Solutions in a remote environment.
As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and direction to design and implementation in-depth business analytics, metrics to support goals and objectives for your area of oversight. You will support Sales & Distribution Reporting and Analytics requests, such as Customer Reporting and Performance Guarantees. You will collaborate with stakeholders, meet with Senior Leaders (Claims, Finance, Product, Marketing and Operations) and provide consultative advice and analytic support to advance growth and profitability initiatives and deliver meaningful business results. What you'll be doing
You will create metrics to support business objectives and achieve desired results while servicing as an analytics champion by educating the business on driving adoption and usage of data analytics to further business insights.
You will provide subject matter expertise on analysis and use of tools and metrics to significantly affect the achievement of business goals.
You will create effective visual analytics to answer meaningful business questions or offer a new perspective for consideration.
You will collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate the current state of data and develop tactical plans to improve data management and resolve technical challenges impeding data availability, quality, metric consistency, and credibility.
You will create dashboards and scorecards utilizing existing and newly developed metrics and performance monitoring systems to provide management with quantifiable gauges of business results and the impact of plans and tactical initiatives.
You will review, critique, and advise on technical designs/capabilities to recommend enhancements to various current systems or those under development.
You will generate reports and aid in transforming base transactional data into meaningful information to drive informed dialog and strategy development with internal and external stakeholders.
You will work within a team of data analysts to ensure high business value needs are delivered
You will partner with Strategic team members to offer analytic support for Group Protection initiatives
You will champion and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives. In addition, you will identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.
What we're looking for
Must-have experience (Required):
4 Year/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors).
3 – 5 years of experience in analytics within the financial services industry, including design & implementation of forward-looking metrics to support & optimize business objectives.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written).
Basic SQL knowledge to query databases.
Relationship building skills with a natural sense of curiosity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong skills/experience with Excel specifically (sumIFs, vlookups, pivot tables).
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
Experience working with, and in support of, team members to solve a problem.
Nice-to have Experience (Preferred):
Business Analysis and/or Project Management experience.
Experience with Dataiku.
Experience with visual data analytics tools (tableau, power BI, etc.)
VBA experience (with an emphasis on how it can be used for Excel macro programming)
